What’s Next for Climate Modeling at MIT?

Models of the natural world and of human activities are vital tools to help researchers and decision-makers understand the Earth system. Researchers across MIT have a long history of building different models to understand these systems, their dynamics, and their interactions — ranging from the first weather models to early integrated analyses of climate policies. Today, the urgency of the climate challenge demands better and more useful tools for decision-making — and new advances in computation offer the opportunity to build them.

Join us for a roundtable discussion on the future of climate modeling at MIT, where we will share information on how different groups across campus are attempting to harness advanced computational techniques to better understand the dynamics of interactions between people and nature towards a more sustainable future.
