Bio

Research Interests:
Prof. Waitz is the Director of the Partnership for AiR Transportation Noise and Emissions Reduction (PARTNER), an FAA/NASA/Transport Canada-sponsored Center of Excellence. His principal areas of interest are the modeling and evaluation of climate, local air quality and noise impacts of aviation, including the assessment of technological, operational and policy options for mitigating these impacts. 

MIT CS3 is collaborating with Prof. Waitz and his team in the PARTNER Project 31: Economic and Environmental Effects of the Introduction of a Cap-And-Trade Policy in Aviation, and a project funded by the US Dept. of Transportation on Assessing Metrics and Simplified Aviation Climate Impact Models.
