Post-Master's Degree Summer Research Assistant

Bio

Hannah Rajput earned her Master's Degree in the Technology Policy Program (TPP) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is broadly interested in public engagement with scientific research and institutions, science communication, and trust in science. Her thesis work involved developing the System for the Triage of Risks from Environmental and Socio-economic Stressors (STRESS) mapping platform to be more publicly accessible and relevant to local stakeholders. She studied History & Philosophy of Science (HPS) as an undergraduate at the University of Toronto, which sparked an interest in the relationships between science & technology and society. During this time, she was involved with a project looking at different mechanisms for funding science, where we focused on comparing traditional peer review to lotteries. She also served as the president of the HPS undergraduate society, where she was responsible for fostering connections between undergraduates, graduates, and faculty, and for planning many events including an international undergraduate conference.
