Yuang (Albert) Chen

Doctoral Candidate, Social and Engineering Systems, Institute for Data, Systems, and Society

Bio

Albert Chen is interested in understanding and solving issues in climate change, air quality and energy systems with mathematical and modeling approaches. His research involves climate and environmental policy decision making, and efficient and rigorous climate and air pollution predictions. He employs statistical and numerical modeling tools in assessing and quantifying policy outcomes, including machine learning, causal inference, chemical transport model, energy optimization model, climate ensembles and satellite inversion. At MIT he is working toward efficient and rigorous climate and air pollution predictions, also setting ground for relevant policy analysis. His doctoral advisor is Professor Noelle Selin.
